Kirribilli Neutral Bay Macquarie Park

What to expect

If you've been coming to our church for a while and would like to know more about who we are and what it looks like to be involved here, please Sign up to a Belonging CourseThere is no expectation that you have to join our church afterwards.

If you've never stepped foot in a church before, or you've attended a church your whole life, you're very welcome at St. Augustines. We understand that visiting somewhere new can be a bit nerve-racking, so we'd like to help you learn more about what happens when you visit us over the weekend.

Our gatherings include an 8am traditional Anglican, 10am all ages contemporary (with kids church and creche programs), followed by 6pm which are both all ages, contemporary services.

You’ll find us on 75 Shellcove Rd, Neutral Bay.

I'm not a Christian - am I welcome?

Absolutely! Our doors are open to everyone, as we believe that the good news of Jesusis for everyone. We'd love to help you to explore this good news, and to put your faith in Jesus. Our church services are a great place for you to do this.

What time should I arrive?

We aim to start our services on the advertised time, but you might like to arrive a bit earlier to find a car park.

How to get there?

By car

There is no on-site parking available, however there is street parking available around Neutral Bay.

By Public Transport

St Augustine’s, Neutral Bay is easily accessible by public transport. For timetables, please see Transport NSW website.

Train - the closest train stations are Milsons Point and North Sydney – from here, there are several bus routes to proceed to church.

Bus - several bus routes service Neutral Bay.  From Neutral Bay Junction on Military Rd, St Augustine’s is a 7-minute downhill walk.

Ferry – Cremorne Point Wharf is the closest wharf.  It is then a 25-minute uphill walk or a bus is available from the wharf up to Wycombe Road.

How long does the service go for?

Our 8am service runs for one hour, and our other services are usually no longer than 90 minutes. You are also welcome to join us for morning tea or supper after the service.

What should I wear?

We want you to feel comfortable joining us for a weekend service. Please just come as you are - church is about the people you're with, not the clothes you're wearing.

Where do I sit?

You are welcome to sit anywhere. There's no reserved or VIP seating, so as long as no one else is sitting on the seat, you're welcome to sit there!

What happens during the service?

Each week the order may change, but there are some common parts to all of our church services. There is a time of singing (you can listen to some of the songs we sing on Spotify). We hear the Bible read and preached (the sermon is a talk lasting for no more than 30 minutes). Someone leads the church in a time of prayer to God.

This might be unfamiliar to you and that's ok - you're welcome to just listen in, and nothing is expected of you - see the next point!

What participation is required?

We want you to feel welcome to come and listen in, without fear of being asked to do anything you're uncomfortable with. You can leave whenever you like, and while you can remain as anonymous as you want to be, we encourage you to introduce yourself to us - we'd love to meet you.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely - church is for people of all ages and stages. Kids Church takes place during our services on Sunday at 10am. There is also a creche at this service, and a room for mothers to feed their babies with an audio feed of the service should you need to stay in there for an extended period of time.

Kids and adults join us at the start of the service, and then the children go to Kids Church about 20 minutes in. At Kids Church, children are well cared for by trained leaders, who have received child protection qualifications. You are of course welcome to sit in during Kids Church and watch what happens.

The church has wheelchair access.
